Kia unveils new Seltos SP3: a stylish compact crossover for the modern driver
Kia recently revealed the highly anticipated second-generation Seltos compact crossover, identified by the code SP3. The original model, SP2, made its debut in 2019 and quickly gained global recognition, being produced in several countries, including South Korea, India, and Russia until production ceased in 2022.
The dimensions of the new Seltos SP3 are 4430 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the new model features an increase in length by 40 mm, width by 30 mm, while height remains the same. The wheelbase has been extended by 60 mm, which is expected to enhance driving dynamics.
The exterior design of the Seltos reflects Kia's latest styling direction with a clean and modern aesthetic. The roof is visually separated from the sides by gloss black accents, and the profile includes a refined window line that rises toward the rear. The headlight units are neatly integrated into a wide black grille, while the side mirrors are supported by slender legs. Unique touch-sensitive door handles also add a contemporary flair.
Inside, the new Seltos features a horizontal dashboard design, with an integrated instrument cluster and media display, both measuring 12.3 inches. Users will benefit from the ability to update the multimedia system software over the internet. Additionally, the luggage capacity has been increased to 536 liters, providing 103 liters more space than the previous version.
Under the hood, the Seltos SP3 offers various engine options, including 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines. The first engine can be turbocharged for outputs of 178 or 190 horsepower, while the second is naturally aspirated, producing 147 horsepower. Potential buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch, or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The base model comes with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is offered as an option.
Kia also plans to introduce a parallel hybrid version in the future, with details to be announced later. The new Seltos is scheduled to hit the market in early 2026, with the hybrid variant expected to follow in mid-2026.
